On many days, the direct cable car to Golden Hands Bridge from the Hoi An Station is closed for maintenance. At that time, visitors will need to take other cable cars (from Suoi Mo Station, Toc Tien Waterfall Station, Champa Station, Hoi An 2 Station,…). Among them, the fastest route to the bridge starts from Suoi Mo Station, the oldest station in Ba Na Hills. Suoi Mo Cable Car Station on Google Maps
Better to Know about Suoi Mo Cable Car Station
Today, the Suoi Mo Station is the departure station of the cable car route to the Ba Na Station (near Linh Ung Ba Na Pagoda). This route is 5,042 meters long, and can carry up to 6,500 passengers per hour during stable weather conditions. Each cabin will have 10-12 visitors, but less if there is no space to sit. In busy hours (like morning), small groups and families won’t have a private gondola, except those who purchased a skip-the-line pass (called Ba Na Hills wow pass). In the early morning or late afternoon till evening, it’s more peaceful, therefore the enterprise can arrange a private car for anybody.
The Suoi Mo Station is named after Suoi Mo (meaning ‘Dream Spring’ in Vietnamese) which runs in its back. In the beginning of the cable car departing from this station, passengers will see the spring. It originates from the peak of Chua Mountain (or Ba Na Hills), and then flows through primitive forests of Ba Na Nui Chua Nature Reserve, one of the richest protection areas in Vietnam. Later, it encounters Tuy Loan River, a major tributary of the Han River which meanders the magnificent downtown of Da Nang city.
Suoi Mo Station is the oldest cable car station in Ba Na Hills. It’s inaugurated in 2009. Compared to other stations, it has a smaller size.

How to Get to Suoi Mo Cable Car Station
The Suoi Mo Station lies in Ba Na Hills, a famous theme park in Da Nang Vietnam. If staying in Da Nang or Hoi An, visitors need to have a nearly-1-hour drive to get to this place. For more information, we recommend reading How to get to Golden Bridge from Da Nang and How to get to Golden Bridge from Hoi An. A day trip is possible if staying overnight in the Intercontinental Hotel on Son Tra Peninsula, Banyan Tree Hotel in Lang Co, Hue city (should go to Da Nang or Hoi An to spend the night after visiting Ba Na Hills). Distance from cruise ports such as Da Nang (Tien Sa) Port or Chan May Port is also not too long.
After reaching Ba Na Hills, visitors need to walk into the big gate with architecture inspired by Ngo Mon Gate at the Imperial City of Hue, the former capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. Next, go upstairs by walking or escalator, and at Starbucks coffee, turn left and go straight ahead (through a garden with shops). At the end of the path, turn left and follow the covered way with ceiling paintings about Hoi An’s Old Town, a Unesco world heritage site. Keep walking straight to see Suoi Mo Station (will pass by the Hoi An Station).
Throughout the rainy season (September to late January) or when it’s raining, from Starbucks coffee, visitors will need to straight (instead of turning left) and then follow the covered pathway to see the Suoi Mo Station. The reason is that the path through the gardens is wet and slippery in the rain. In this case, the walking distance is longer than usual.

Cable Car Route from Suoi Mo Station
The cable car route from the Suoi Mo Station to the Hoi An Station is the first (oldest) cable car route in Ba Na Hills. It’s opened on 25th March 2009, to commemorate the 34th anniversary of Da Nang Liberation Day and the Reunification Day of Vietnam. On the map, this route lies between the route to the Golden Hands Bridge and the route to the French Village.
At its time of construction, the cable car route from the Suoi Mo Station to the Ba Na Station gained two Guinness world records: the longest cable car in the world (5,042 meters) and the largest difference in altitude between the departure and arrival stations (over 1,400 meters). This is one of the first international reputations of Ba Na Hills.
From the Suoi Mo Station, visitors have one of the quickest cable car rides to Golden Hands Bridge. This ride is 20-30 minutes long, depending on weather conditions. After landing the upper station – Hoi An Station, it’s needed to have a funicular ride (2 minutes long) to reach the hilltop where sightseeing places are located (such as Golden Hands Bridge). From here, another way to explore Ba Na Hills is going to the Debay Station to take the cable car to the French Village (where visitors can see Fantasy Park, Saint Denis Church, Helios Waterfall, Ba Na Brew House,…). During high tourist seasons, the opening hours of the cable car from Suoi Mo Station is from 8 am to around 4 pm. In low seasons, it’s often closed because other cable cars are more convenient for visitors.
During the cable car ride between the Suoi Mo Station and the Hoi An Station, passengers will have a fantastic experience. Below the gondola. there is a well-protected national park with non-stop chains of mountains and hills, dense rainforests, old and tall trees, rocky streams, majestic waterfalls (especially Toc Tien waterfall dropping from the top of a nearly-700-meter-tall sheer rocky cliff), amazing outcrops rising above the jungle, and diverse animals. The next highlight is the breath-taking panoramic view if look towards Da Nang city. It’s possible to see everything from the mountains to the ocean, including winding rivers, vast farmlands and rice fields, high-rise towers, beaches as well as famous natural landmarks of the area like Monkey Mountain, Hai Van Pass, Da Nang Bay, Marble Mountains, Han River, Cham Islands. Furthermore, within an only 20-minute-long ride, the weather may be changeable (sunny, cloudy, rainy, foggy,…). On many days of the year, the mountain becomes foggy, bringing an extremely stunning journey. The cable car route from the Suoi Mo Station to the Ba Na Station is the best route at Ba Na Hills in terms of experience.
