Better to Know about Hoi An Cable Car Station

Today, the Hoi An Station is the departure station of the cable car route to the Marseille Station (near Golden Hands Bridge). This route is 5,261 meters long, and can carry up to 6,500 passengers per hour during stable weather conditions. It’s exactly the direct line to Golden Hands Bridge, the most well known attraction in the park. Each cabin will have 10-12 visitors, but less if there is no space to sit. In busy hours (like morning), small groups and families won’t have a private gondola, except those who purchased a skip-the-line pass (called Ba Na Hills wow pass). In the early morning or late afternoon till evening, it’s more peaceful, therefore the enterprise can arrange a private car for anybody. Read more about cable car from Hoi An Station

The Hoi An Station is named after Hoi An, a Unesco world heritage town in Da Nang area. It played its role as an international trading port between the 15th and the 19th centuries, attracting merchants from the rest of the world. In 1999, the Old Town of Hoi An was honored to be a Unesco world heritage site. At the station, visitors can see ceiling paintings depicting pretty quarters of the heritage town, colorful lanterns (Hoi An is known as city of lanterns), candle lanterns and sampan boats floating on the river at night (near cable cars) as well as impressive photos about Hoi An in different times of the year. Plus the gorgeous gardens on the way, the Hoi An Station is the most beautiful cable car station in Ba Na Hills.

In 2025, the Hoi An 2 Station was opened. This is the departure station for the cable car to the Moon Kingdom Staton near the Lunar Castle. From here, the shortest way to the Golden Hands Bridge is getting the cable car at the Louvre Station (to the Bordeaux Station and then go downstairs). The distance between the Moon Kingdom Station and the Louvre Station is relatively long. Visitors can walk or take a funicular ride at the Dragon Den Station (to the Mystery Well Station and then walk). So, the older Hoi An Station is also known as ‘Hoi An 1 Station’. To save time and energy, the Hoi An Station or Hoi An 1 Station is still better to board for a cable car ride to Golden Hands Bridge.

How to Get to Hoi An Cable Car Station at Ba Na Hills

Location of Hoi An Station

The Hoi An Station lies in Ba Na Hills, a famous theme park in Da Nang Vietnam. If staying in Da Nang or Hoi An, visitors need to have a nearly-1-hour drive to get to this place. For more information, we recommend reading How to get to Golden Bridge from Da Nang and How to get to Golden Bridge from Hoi An. A day trip is possible to plan if staying overnight in the Intercontinental Hotel on Son Tra Peninsula, Banyan Tree Hotel in Lang Co, Hue city (should go to Da Nang or Hoi An to spend the night after visiting Ba Na Hills). Distance from cruise ports such as Da Nang (Tien Sa) Port or Chan May Port is also not too long.

Directions to Hoi An Station before 3 PM

After reaching Ba Na Hills, visitors need to walk into the big gate with architecture inspired by Ngo Mon Gate at the Imperial City of Hue, the former capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. Next, go upstairs by walking or escalator, and at Starbucks coffee, turn left and go straight ahead (through a garden with shops). At the end of the path, turn left and follow the covered way with ceiling paintings about Hoi An’s Old Town, a Unesco world heritage site. Once again, at the end of the path, turn left to see the Hoi An Station.

Throughout the rainy season (September to late January) or when it’s raining, from Starbucks coffee, visitors will need to straight (instead of turning left) and then follow the covered pathway to see the Hoi An Station. The reason is that the path through the gardens is wet and slippery in the rain. In this case, the walking distance is longer than usual.

Directions to Hoi An Station after 3 PM

From 3 pm (or 4 pm), the walking distance to the Hoi An Station is shorter because visitors don’t have to go through the gardens. Instead of 20-30 minutes (or even longer during busy hours), it takes only 10 minutes in this case. The reason is that there are too many people going back to the parking lot at the end of their trip on the above-mentioned path (called ‘morning path’).
