Direct Cable Car to Golden Bridge from Hoi An Station

– Opening date: 18th March 2022 (to commemorate the 47th Da Nang Liberation Day and the 47th Vietnam Unification Day, same day with Ba Na Hills Funicular 2)

– Opening hours: 8 AM to 6 PM daily

– Length/Distance: 5,261 meters (approximately 3,2 miles)

– Duration: 15-20 mins (longer if the weather is rainy, windy, foggy/cloudy,…)

– Departure station: Hoi An Station

– Arrival station: Marseille Station

– Number of passengers: 12 people maximum per car

To go to the Hoi An Station from Ba Na Hills main entrance, visitors need to go through the Japanese-style bridge (inspired by Pagoda Bridge in Hoi An) and then into the big gate (with an architecture inspired by Ngo Mon Gate at Imperial City of Hue). Take the escalator to go up and after that, turn left, walk straight ahead, turn left again and follow the covered paths (with paintings about Hoi An) to see the station.

At Hoi An Station, visitors need to show the ticket to scan. If the ticket includes lunch or dinner, please keep it to scan one more time later at the restaurant. After that, take the escalator to go up and see cable cars. There are about 10-12 people sharing a car (depending on the size of people), but in low hours or low days, a private car will be arranged for families and groups.

From Hoi An Station, the cable car to Golden Hands Bridge is 20-to-30 minutes long, depending on the weather. It brings visitors to an elevation of 1,400 meters, making it one of the most impressive cable car rides all over the world. Because the cars are glass sided (not glass bottom), passengers enjoy watching and photographing beautiful landscapes from all directions. The view to the city is panoramic, breath-taking, and becomes greater when ‘flying’ higher. On sunny days, it’s possible to see a chain of blue mountains, green rural lands with lakes, high-rise towers in the city downtown, Hai Van Pass (left), Monkey Mountain (front, by the horizon), Marble Mountains (left, far) and meandering rivers. Below the cars, there is a nature reserve with dense forests, whispering streams and waterfalls, gigantic outcrops and diverse wildlife. During the rainy season (October to February) or late afternoon everyday in the dry season, the cars will go through clouds. The cable car experience is like a journey to fairyland.

The cable car lands at Marseille Station. From here, take the escalator to go up and then look to the right to see the entrance of Golden Bridge. At this station, visitors can see many souvenirs about the bridge to buy as well as foods, beverages and necessary items for each season (hat, umbrella, rain poncho, jacket, etc).

Golden Bridge Without Cable Car: Is It Possible?

Currently, although there is one road constructed, riding the cable car is the only way to go to Golden Hands Bridge. Meaning that it’s impossible to reach it without cable car.

Compared to going to Ba Na Hills by car/bus, a cable car ride is much easier, safer, enjoyable, comfortable, and quicker. It’s built by the Doppelmayr Group, the leading ropeway manufacturer in Europe, guaranteeing the highest safety standards.

Before 2009, when the first cable car was inaugurated, visitors could drive up to Ba Na Hills at an elevation of 1,400 meters. From this year to date, the road has been closed.
