Seasons in Golden Hands Bridge Vietnam
The Dry Season
Golden Hands Bridge is situated in Da Nang, a coastal city in central Vietnam. Here, there are two distinct seasons in the year: the dry season from February to September, and the rainy season from October to late January.
In the dry season (February to September), it’s dry, very sunny, and the chance of rain is low. It’s really good for sightseeing, taking photos, and participating in outdoor adventures or water activities (such as beaches, diving/snorkeling in Cham islands). The hottest months are from April to the end of August. During this period, the temperature is up to nearly 40oC. For that reason, we recommend going to Da Nang around March or September (the beginning or the end of the whole dry season) to see lower temperatures.
However, at Ba Na Hills (or Golden Bridge in particular), the temperature is always cooler than lower areas thanks to its high altitude (over 1,400 meters above the sea level). In the 20th century, French people who colonized Vietnam, constructed a hill station here to avoid the heat and relax.
Note: The weather in Ba Na Hills during the dry season is described as ‘four seasons in one day’. This attracts many tourists coming to the park.

The Rainy Season (Wet Season)
The rainy season in Da Nang will start in September and end in February. During it, it rains almost everyday, coupled with a high rainfall and moderate temperature. Meaning that if traveling in this period, visitors feel more comfortable than the rest of the year. The wettest and the coldest months are November and December (when Christmas and New year holidays in many countries occur).
In Ba Na Hills which lies on the top of the mountain, it’s often foggy/cloudy on many days of the month during the rainy season. At the end of the year, visitors will see heavy rains and strong winds. The temperature is lowest in the area (down to 10oC on the coldest days).
The ‘typhoon season’ is between October and January. Depending on the year, the number of typhoons is just a few or many. On typhoon days, it will be cloudy, strongly windy, and heavily rainy, causing damage. After the typhoon makes landfall, flooding may occur in low lands (including Da Nang and Hoi An centers).
If the typhoon comes to Da Nang, the cable car to Golden Bridge and Ba Na Hills will be shut down to keep visitors safe. Many outdoor activities and attractions (such as alpine coasters, shows), are closed. Everyone will understand that this is not a time to visit. However, after the typhoon day, it’s potentially sunny and clear. Sure, this weather supports a relaxing trip.

To be one of the first people walking on the bridge, it’s need to take the earliest cable car at 8 am for day trippers or 7:30 am for hotel guests. In the afternoon, the most peaceful time is just before sunset. Because it’s often foggy in the mountain throughout the season, therefore visitors need to check the weather forecast and then choose the most sunny day in the city to do the trip. After arriving at Ba Na Hills, we recommend checking the weather forecast on Google again and then choose the hours with the lowest chance of rain to visit Golden Bridge. Furthermore, on the day after the typhoon, the weather is usually sunny. That day can be one of the best days of the whole rainy season.
